 The Dwelling Place Monastery is located near the town of Martin, in Southeastern Kentucky, which is in Floyd County. The nearest airports are in Louisville, Kentucky (four hours,) Lexington, Kentucky (two and one half hours,) Huntington, West Virginia (one and one half hours,) and Cincinnati, Ohio (four hours.) The closest bus stations are Ashland, Kentucky (one and one half hours) and Huntington, West Virginia. Amtrak comes into Ashland, Kentucky. From Lexington: Keep in mind that your GPS and MapQuest information will take you the long way! Take I-64 Eastbound to the Mountain Parkway. Follow the Mountain Parkway toward Prestonsburg. The Highway number will change (Hwy114), but continue on toward Prestonsburg. When approaching Prestonsburg, turn right onto 23South. Take the Martin Exit, Hwy 80, and keep to the right on the exit. You will see a large American flag on your left, as you are ascending an incline. Get into the right lane. Slow down as you descend, and turn on your right turn signal when you pass the Hwy 122 sign. It is a fast descent, and you will turn right onto Hwy 122. Drive 2.5 miles on 122 and turn right onto Mt. Tabor Road. Pass the brown building and go to the left and up the mountain to the monastery. Travel time from Lexington is approximately 2hrs and 15 min.
