Golden Jubilee Celebration for Sr. Judy Yunker

September 4th will be the Golden Jubilee Celebration for Sr. Judy.  Everyone is excited about the upcoming event, and look forward to having family and friends to join us in marking this very special time in Sr. Judy's life.

2010 - The Year of Change

January started with the First Profession of Sr. Mary Going.  That was a great beginning to tremendous change at The Dwelling Place Monastery.  Since then, two have entered the novitiate, along with a postulant and one associate.  Yes, the population of the mountain has doubled in size!  We are adjusting with much joy over new faces and challenges.

Sr. Mary Going - First Profession - January 2

Kathy Curtis - Postulant - February 6  will enter the novitiate Oct 2

Campbell Welsh - Associate - May 31

Kathy DiVaio - Novice - June 26

Kathy Burke - Novice - August 14

Easter   2009

Holy week and Easter were again very special days at Mt. Tabor. We had several out of town guests as well as local friends. Twelve of us gathered for the Washing of the feet and Agape on Holy Thursday.  The mealwas works. The trational three desserts were the reward for Lent now past.

Good Friday was mild and sunny and we used Sr. Joan Chitister's Way of the Cross combining the Passion with the walking of our mountainside way of the cross.    The Sanders family and Sr. Jan's son Dave and her grandchildren joined us for the Easter Vigil. Posters depicting the days of Creation can be seen on our walls. Easter Sunday saw us up at 6:30 for the sunrise service and Agape.

We had our Easter dinner at 2:00. Dave Barthel fixed the ham and the sisters filled in the rest. And as God did on the seventh day of Creation, we rested. Sr. Carolyn and Fr. Bob went up to the Women's Prison at Wheelwright for Mass at 7:00.
